The weather will catch up soon
Happy first day of spring!
Soon the buds will be popping, warm air will be whirling and winter will be a distant memory.

Last week my mother gave me a large folder filled with art work and old school projects that she had kept from when I was in school.
School did not come particularly easy to me. In fact, I remember sitting at the dinning room table going over and over and over spelling words. My parents got so tired of testing me that they had me spell them into a tape recorder and listen to them back…it was great fun.
Needless to say, this picture brought me right back to that dinning room table when I looked at it. If you can’t read the title of the picture, I wrote ” I like Suturday Becaz I like swimgn in The aftrnoon. dut I like goig with a frend.”
I guess I’m going to have to take the hit for this one if our kids can’t spell worth a lick. Ohhh well.

The kids are gone.
Adam is at work.
I’m still in my Saturday morning running clothes and catching up on blogs.
I find this month’s Superhero Photo Challenge and can’t stop myself.
Seriously, I had way too much fun putting my camera up on pots and pans and hitting the 10 second timer.
Try it.
You gotta try it.
Freaky little thing
I found this little dog in my dirty laundry bin.
I have no idea where it came from or whose it is.
My pinkie finger is there to show you just how small it is.
It is velvety soft.
It looks kinda mad, kinda mean, kinda nasty and certainly not the COME PLAY WITH ME kinda happy you’re going for as a kid.
This small thing is very disturbing to me.
I don’t like it one bit.
Who the hell would play with that?
The dog won’t even chew it to death.
I think it’s the eyes.

Marathon training has officially started for good, today. And what I mean by that is, today, although not necessarily the first day, kicked my butt. Moderate (which is a swift) pace for 7 miles with sprints at the end. Needless to say, I realized today just how out of shape I am AND that I need to head right on back to the Podiatrist.
I can’t even think about my Podiatrist anymore without thinking of a conversation I had with Jen the first time I went to see him. I got out of the office, picked up my phone and called Jen to give her the low down on the bunion and then I added that not only is he brilliant, he is HOT!
She said, well he’s your type. I’m all like…WHAT…I have a type? What do you mean? I’ve been with the same guy for half my life. I don’t have a type anymore.
She continued on, yeah he doesn’t really do it for me. You know, he looks just like Adam will in 10 years.
And damn if she isn’t right…my husband is sooo HOT!

On the drive home from church on Sunday, Adam caught KP eating his boogers.
Every time he catches one of the kids eating their boogers he tells them that they’ll get worms. Which always makes me bristle…I mean REALLY, eating boogers gives you worms??? Come on!
So I called him out, in the car, in front of the kids. Since I was going that far, I though I would try to divide the family. You know, see who is on my side of the booger/worm question. So I put the bet out there, $5 dollars to dad if he is right.
And so it started.
Who wants in with mom? Who thinks mom is right? Boogers don’t give you worms. SILENCE.
Who thinks dad is right? Who thinks eating your boogers give you worms? All hands go up, chanting starts, DAD…DAD…DAD.
So when we got home, we Googled it.
Please post your comment before you look at the answer.

This morning I was cleaning out my Franklin Planner from back in my (paid) working days. I decided to go back to the planner instead of scratching things down on a random cute spiral notebook that I pick up at Target every quarter. This movement is in the hopes of making my life a little more organized.
While I was looking through the left over pieces of paper, business cards and items on my To Do List from 2002, I ran across a list I had shoved in the back of my planner. It was my once written and long forgotten Bucket List. Here it is:
Things to do b/4 I die
- Start my own company, catering and/or store
- Raise loving, self confident and self loving children
- Get my masters
- Go to Greece
- Go to Europe
- Go to Italy
- Learn another language
- Learn pottery
- Work in a kitchen to learn more about cooking
- Triathlon
- Make a quilt
It feels like I have opened a little time capsule to myself.
I’m happy to say I have knocked off number #1, the catering company. For those of you who did not know, an old friend and I once owned and operated our own catering company for two years. It was called Eat, Drink & Mary. It was a lot of fun and a lot of very hard work.
As for #2, raising children is a life long endeavor. I guess I will only know if I have succeeded in this matter a little later.
#10 is scratched off. As most of you know, I have jumped whole hog into triathlons.
As for the rest of the items, I will keep them there, work on them, determine if I still want them there and even add some new ones.
What’s on your list?

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?

I think a bug shit on my nose today.
I am on my fourth pair of new running shoes in two weeks. I have discovered the art of taking back shoes I have run outside in.
PJ was home with strep throat today.
I think KP might have ass strep…he is just the kinda kid that gets ass strep.
I’ve decided I have taken on too much. If I could give one thing away, it would be teaching SUNDAY SCHOOL. Lord knows I should not be doing it anyway and I’m not really a Sunday person.
I have heard KP tell me he is going to cut me with a sharp knife if he doesn’t get his way. He is just the kinda kid that would cut someone with a sharp knife.
Thinking joining facebook was just another thing to eat away at my time.
How are all those people I haven’t seen in 21 years all there waiting for me to ask them to be my friends all over again? Are they really my friends anyway?
I think it’s time to be done for the night.
Have you seen Mad Men? Oh lord…we just started season one and can’t stop. It makes you want to drink scotch, smoke and absolutely not be a woman in the early 60’s.
How bad is it that I was too lazy to actually clean out the coffee grounds in the coffee machine? The left overs, under the fresh stuff, might make for a really nice blend tomorrow at 5:00.
OK, now I’m done for the night.
