$5 bet
On the drive home from church on Sunday, Adam caught KP eating his boogers.
Every time he catches one of the kids eating their boogers he tells them that they’ll get worms. Which always makes me bristle…I mean REALLY, eating boogers gives you worms??? Come on!
So I called him out, in the car, in front of the kids. Since I was going that far, I though I would try to divide the family. You know, see who is on my side of the booger/worm question. So I put the bet out there, $5 dollars to dad if he is right.
And so it started.
Who wants in with mom? Who thinks mom is right? Boogers don’t give you worms. SILENCE.
Who thinks dad is right? Who thinks eating your boogers give you worms? All hands go up, chanting starts, DAD…DAD…DAD.
So when we got home, we Googled it.

KP had one of his school buddies, Big C, over for a play date yesterday.
When we showed up for school this morning, Big C’s mom just had to share a little story that happened at their house last night.
When Big C was being put to bed, he told his dad that he better go lock the doors and make sure they were locked.
When his dad asked why, he said, “I was playing with one of KP’s big brother’s toys. He told me that I better not because he will hunt me down. So can you make sure the doors are locked.”

I have decided to mix things up a little bit this week and only post photos of the day. Ok, maybe a few words with the photos or maybe not.

This one is happy.
This one is mad.
And that little one in blue, he has no idea what to do.

Ever since summer started, our basement-tv room-kids play area, has been a disaster area. It was beyond just simply cleaning it up. It needed to be cleaned out.
That said, last week when it rained, we got to it. I brought out the 70 qt storage bin and the 16 qt storage bin and a garbage bag. CT got his own bins, KP and PJ shared a set.
The kids filled the large bin with large toys and the small bin with small toys and anything broken went into the garbage bin.
Each bin had a price tag associated with it. Large bin, $5. Small bin, $1. Gargage (paper grochery bag) $1. Once we had gone through all the toys and the bins were filled (several times), we bagged them up, put them in the back of the van and dropped it all off at Good Will.
Then we went to Target with the money they had made and they each got to buy ONE new toy.

This past weekend, this is just a sampling of some of the things I heard my kids say:
KP: This is the best Earth in the whole world. (This said just after shoving a fist full of Sour Patch Kids in his mouth).
PJ: When I’m old enough, I’m going to get my nose pierced like Auntie Shannon AND get my belly button pierced. (This said at the lunch table, just because.)
CT: I’m gay. I’m a gay baseball player! (This said while sitting at the dinner table with the WHOLE extended family while celebrating Adam’s 38th birthday.)

Ever since CT started playing baseball he has wanted an aluminum bat. We told him if he had enough money he could buy one. That’s tricky since he spent all his birthday money already and has no source of income.
So he asked if he could get an allowance. I told him to go draw up a chart and decide what he thought would be a good set of chores and then we would go over it.
He came back with the following:
Brush Teeth
Make Bed
Go To School
Dirty Clothes in Hamper
Make Lunch
Clean Up Basement When Needed
Scoop Cat Poop
Secret
These suggestions looked pretty go to me, however, we did have to take out Go To School and I had no idea what Secret was. When I asked him he told me, anything you want me to do.
Ohhhh I feel like I’ve won the lottery. The poop is scrubbed off of the toilets by someone other than me!
What a fabulous idea…The Secret.

Wow, that was fun. Watching CT and his buddies enjoying the game of baseball.
This was CT’s first game ever and he was all business. It should be a fun season to watch.
Nice job boys!

CT: MOM…MOM…MOM come here.
Me: Just a minute! (I say as I open the door to my friend Dr. A, who is at my house to pick me up so we can go out and tie one on with a few other neighbor lady friends.)
CT: No seriously mom…get up here…this totally stinks.
Me: (I look over at Dr. A, roll my eyes and say slightly annoyed) Whaaaaat?
CT: MOM…I pulled this out of Reuben’s butt!
Me: OK…stay right there, I’ll get the camera.
And yeah, it did stink. But the more troubling thing…why on earth did he pull it out of the cat’s ass in the first place?
