Our own Red Tent
This past week, our currently defunct Playgroup, a group of woman that had gotten together every Wednesday for seven solid years, is now reuniting monthly to read books, drink wine and discuss content, story lines and everything else that is going on in our lives.
This reunion has made me think a lot about all the woman that surround me in this life and how lucky I am to have them as confidants, friends, support staff, shoulders to cry on, wise minds to draw from, girlie girls to laugh with, psychiatrists to help nash things through with and just plain’ol hang out with. I could go on and on.
Our new found book club has chosen it’s first three books (just in case we have some over achievers out there). The first two books are: Sun Flower and the Secret Fan and The Red Tent. These choices have made me think even more about woman and their relationships. These are both books that talk about woman, their relationship with other woman and how they made their lives work together because they had to due to circumstance, timing and tradition.
We, woman of today, have come so far in every way, but there is still that need. A need to be together, to connect, to work together, to work things out together, to have fun together.
So my ladies, this is to you…thank you…I love you…you make my life richer…I appreciate you and all you give and if we were stuck in a Red Tent together, I would be honored.
